I enjoy a good dirty martini. Their martinis were very good the night I went with my family of 5. We all enjoyed our delicious food- and we did not have to drive to Hammond. The next visit was a quick burger, but although quick, the meat was just the way we ordered it. Our burgers were delicious. Thanks to a great staff.

BLUF: Unexpected crazy place in Amite. Anything in the world on one menu. You feel like you are in a TGIFs or something. Nice place, lots of bling everywhere. Service was nice but small town slow. Thats okay with me but not all the time. The menu it nuts. It is huge and covers so many types of food. You can get fried seafood, sushi, chineese food, burgers, sandwiches etc. Huge menu. I got the sweet and sour chicken which they call the Choo Choo chicken. It is exactly what it was...sweet and sour chicken. Nothing exciting but it is what i wanted. Buddy got the burger and said it was fantastic. I trust him. Other buddy got fajitas and also liked his. I dont know Amite but I dont expect it has a huge variety of food or many places to eat. I would probably go here a lot if I spent much time in Amite. It is a 4 star place for Amite but probably wouldnt make it in a big city with lots of options.

I don't like to write negative reviews, but in this case I am compelled too. My family and I decided to eat at The Boston on 5/17/15. We were in Folsom, LA on a special trip for Mother's Day, the dinner at The Boston was a part of this gift. The restaurant was not overcrowded, it was a Sunday afternoon. We were seated quickly (which turned out to be the only positive note of this dining experience. Here is a rundown of this terrible experience. - Our drink orders took an extremely long time, and when the orders were finally taken the bar was out of stock of the simple liquors, mixers, and beers we requested. - When I ordered a draft beer I could taste that the lines on the tap have not been cleaned in some time, the beer tasted awful - The fountain drinks tasted the same - Our appetizer (pepper jack cheese sticks) was undercooked with the center still cold - Mid way through the meal our waitress left, saying that she had to go to a wedding (this isn't a problem, but our replacement server was obviously not informed of this and we had to flag a busboy to get us refills, which he forgot immediately) - One of our guests food order was not taken, so everyone else got their food and she didn't, the explanation was "We will just throw it on the grill and it shouldn't take 6 minutes", 15 minutes later the burger came out, undercooked, which we sent back - Our dessert order never came - We weren't given napkins or anything with our meals - We had to flag down a waitress to finally get our check When paying our tab we asked for the manager to tell her about the issues, and to get the food items that we didn't receive taken off the bill. She came out after a 10 minute wait, with an attitude. She proceeded to argue with us saying "That's just how it is". Her attitude was abhorrent. There is no excuse for this type of service and management. We have been coming to The Boston for years and have never experienced this. We just paid our full tab (including the missing food items) to leave before the situation escalated. I called today to speak to the owner (who was not in). The manager on duty was the same manager as yesterday, and her callous, uncaring attitude was the same. I don't want my money back, in fact I don't want any association or contact with this restaurant again. This type of service is inexcusable and has lost 4 repeat customers and the recommendation to ANYONE who inquires about the Boston. I even wrote a positive review a while back on the Boston, disregard that review. Avoid this place like the plague.

Highly recommend the seafood pesto pasta. I had veggie stir-fry and it was very nice. Service was excellent.

I'd heard a lot about this place when I would go back home to visit and my sister and I finally decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is nice - casual but welcoming decor, warm colors and quite a few TVs if you want to watch a game while you're there. We steered away from the fried, regular menu and went straight for the sushi menu. I've only been lukewarm on the sushi from their sister restaurant, Cate Street in Hammond, but this was world's better, even memorable, sushi. We started off with the squid salad, which was DELICIOUS. Not made with mayo and the dressing was very light so you could taste the squid. For dinner, we got a couple of rolls and decided to split them. The N.O. Saints roll was BY FAR our favorite with snow crab, a nominal amount of fresh jalapeno, avocado and cream cheese topped with lightly fried whitefish. No one taste slapped you in the tongue, and the texture (which is VERY important in sushi, IMO) was very appetizing. We also tried the Burning Man Roll which is a dream for Spicy Tuna Roll lovers. You get the spicy tuna kicked up to 11 with the addition of crunchy tempura, avocado, and some awesome white tuna tataki on top. The only roll that we didn't like was the Shaggy. We found that it was over mayonnaised, so we told our waiter and the manager and they were awesome enough to send us another N.O. Saints roll instead. My suggestion, stay away from anything with their spicy mayo - too much mayo, and not enough spicy. That being said, the fact that the waitstaff and management were willing to make us something else to ensure that we were happy with our experience and not charge us for the extra roll was great and it will definitely ensure a return trip from me. Oh, and if you are thinking about dessert, make sure you go with the Happy Ending. BROWNIES AND BREAD PUDDING. TOGETHER, Y'ALL. Can't miss it.

I travel the country eating everywhere...just look at my reviews...this place is not only surprising but it is one of the best meals I've had here in Amite City. My server, Brooklyn, was incredible...great smile and perfect service. She recommended a wonderful sashimi dish...again surprising in Amite. Do yourself a favor and ask for her. I didn't take a photo but I should have of my sashimi. If you are driving down I-55 near Amite City or live here, come and try it. It is in a great refurbished old building and my catfish was perfectly prepared. Check it out!

What an amazing experience! Atmosphere, service, and most importantly, the food! The "Sushi Pizza" is something you cannot miss. Yes, it sounds weird, but it is yummy!

Apparently quality service and honoring their word is not high on the list for this establishment. My family has tried multiple times to eat at this place both dining in and taking out. We have spoken with the manager about poor service in the past, but it seems things have not changed. The last straw - ordering $100 worth of sushi via phone, showing up 30 minutes later to pick it up and not getting the product until 50 minutes after my order was placed. I was told it would be ready in 25 minutes when I ordered it by phone. Even with me sitting in the establishment, the process obviously was not sped up. Maybe the loss of my business will not affect their bottom dollar, but if you are expecting good service - avoid this place at all costs.

I live a block away, always gave this place a lot of business yet they made my family sick on several occasions. Once very recently (last week) became ill off the boston salad, was told it was my fault and our house dishes were dirty. I spent plenty of money here and was treated terrible for giving them a heads up. The food is always boring like the specials are always the same lobster shrimp muck. Drinks are pricey but better then the food. All and all the dishes have inconsistent quality and I just go out to hammond, same price better places.

I had about given up on finding great eggplant parmesan until I came here. The meaty eggplant slices were flavorful. Their batter was just right, not greasy. The sauce was delicious and thick. The angel hair pasta was the perfect accompaniment.

Gumbo was slightly above-average...roux a bit thin. Side salad was weak, though not totally unexpected for $3. Service behind the bar was slow, despite a very thin crowd. Bartender appeared apathetic. Oh well.

This place is very good. After living in the area for several years, we moved away and while visiting we went to this place. All food was VERY good. It's apparently owned and operated by the same people who have "Cate Street Seafood" in Hammond. Teriyaki Steak and fried rice was good. Sushi was very good too. Chances are next time we are back home I'll gladly go back.

I started with a bloody mary. This bloody mary ranked as one of the best I've ever had. For my meal I had the steak teriyaki with garlic potatos, fried okra, and salad. My order arrived quickly and was hot. I enjoyed the meal. Scarlet, my waitress, provided excellent service. As I was enjoying my meal, the waiters were bringing bread pudding to other customers. The bread pudding sure did look good but I was too full for dessert. I am going to go back to check it out.

I am very glad I found The Boston on my trip to Louisiana. I was not expecting something this nice with quality and service in Amite, LA. They have a good selection of draft beers on tap, good appetizers and a great menu with a wide variety of steaks, seafood, Asian and sushi and sandwiches. We ordered a few different entrees and all were cooked and seasoned very well. If you are looking for the nicest dining option in Amite, LA, The Boston is it!
